OHBA Update
OHBA is continuing to organize weekly regional conference calls to provide a general COVID-19 update.
All of the regions together will be scheduled for one big “zoom” meeting this coming Monday June 8 @ 9:00 AM. The short half hour meeting will be open to any interested members from the local HBA’s. Burlington City Council approves Virtual Statutory Public Meetings
At Burlington City Council on Monday, May 25, Council received details on the City’s approach to virtual statutory public meetings in accordance with the Planning Act, and the addition of an August committee cycle of meetings.
The City of Burlington is allowing virtual statutory public meetings beginning this July. Staff are developing a process so virtual meetings can work as closely as possible to an in-person meeting. Residents are encouraged to pre-register but there will be staff in place to help those who need to register during the meeting.

Burlington Committee of Adjustment
The Committee of Adjustment is now accepting new applications digitally. Please submit a complete digital application and drawings to [email protected] and ensure the subject line reads:
“New MV or Consent (chose one) Application_Applicant Name_Property Address.”
All documents should be submitted in PDF.
Staff will contact you to:
- Confirm the application fees and,
- Provide payment options: E-transfers are the preferred payment method and must be sent from a bank that recognizes auto-deposit. If this is not possible, cheques submitted via Canada Post mail and credit card payments can be accepted; processing times will be longer.
Committee of Adjustment meetings have been postponed for the time being. Staff are exploring alternate methods of conducting Committee of Adjustment meetings that will allow for an open and transparent process while abiding by the public participation component as stipulated under the Planning Act.
