MAKING A DIFFERENCE WHERE WE LIVE AND WORK
Giving back to the community is important to the WE HBA. Our members donate their time and resources to help families and organizations in the Hamilton-Halton area.
WE HBA has and will continue to have a growing Community presence. We have made major steps towards supporting our community and we are constantly looking to increase our presence and contribution to the local community.
WE HBA 2025 CHARITY OF CHOICE
The West End Home Builders’ Association has worked closely with our partners to support the capital campaign of Keaton’s House Paul Paletta Children’s Hospice with a $10,000 donation in both 2023 and 2024. WE HBA is working with our members and community leaders across the Greater Hamilton area to make a difference in the lives of children in palliative care and their devoted families through our support of the capital campaign. YWCA DONATION
The West End Home Builders’ Association has and will continue to have a growing Community presence. In 2022, we made major steps towards supporting the YWCA in Hamilton and donated $10,000 to help support the build fund of the Putman Family YWCA, Hamilton’s first affordable permanent housing residence for single and mother-led families.
MOHAWK COLLEGE BURSARY AWARD
Each year, the WE HBA awards a bursary to a deserving Mohawk College student. The funds are aimed at assisting the most deserving graduates of the construction and renovation technician programs to launch their own construction or renovation company. We have partnered with Mohawk College Foundation to create a $50,000 endowment fund to assist students enrolled in skilled trades programs at the College.

HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE
During the Holiday Season, the WE HBA hosts its annual Toy Drive and Social, where those in attendance bring a new, unwrapped toy for needy children in our community.
The new toys are donated to City Kidz, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children living in the inner city.
“WHAT HOME LOOKS LIKE TO ME” CHILDRENS’ ART CONTEST
In 2015, the WE HBA ran its first art contest for Grade 5 children at a local school in Burlington to have them think about the concepts of house and home. One resounding theme rang true: it often doesn’t matter where you live, it is who you are with and how you feel when you are there. The successful artists’ works hang in the lobby of WE HBA offices, and all participants are treated to lunch with the judges.

ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
The WE HBA Annual Golf Tournament is a popular event that raises funds for the Presidential Charity of Choice.
Members have helped raise funds for multiple charity organizations like Good Shepherd, Mohawk College and others. More than 200 members attend our Golf Tournament that successfully takes place every year.
Our UForty group continues to support its bursary program with the Building Construction/Renovator program at Mohawk College
